There is something about lakes that overwhelms you with a sense of calm. Maybe it’s the stillness of the water, the mesmerizing ripples or the mirror-like reflections. I always get lost in my thoughts when I lean against the railing…wondering how they were formed from the foundations of the world, wondering at their depths and how easy it is to create lifetime memories there.
Not all lakes won Mother Nature’s natural good look but whenever I get the chance, I like to come here. I was invited to a wedding over the weekend and after the reception, I decided to drive to the lake and take in some of nature’s awesomeness.
I wore this beautiful gown which I got from El-Boogie last year and I felt extremely elegant in it. The cut out details on either side of it emphasized the smallness of my waist and I especially like the fact that it’s not exactly a full-on A-line gown but it’s sort of a cross between A-line and gentle pleats.
I snagged these Zara shoes on black Friday, swept my hair a little to the side and kept my accessories minimal.
Hope you had a fantastic weekend. Thanks for reading!
