So you’re meeting the girls for brunch and don’t want to appear overdressed because….hey it’s just brunch but you also don’t want to show up looking like a sack of potatoes, then my ladies, do yourselves a favor and reach for a romper. It’s cheeky, comfy and strikes the perfect balance between laid back casual and just alright.
One of the upsides of living in Nigeria is that it’s practically summer all year round (until December when harmattan sets in and lets you know who’s boss) and the hot summer days call for breezy effortless pieces that can get you through the day in style. So even if you receive a phone call that results in you having to make an unplanned stopover after brunch, you won’t need to worry about allegations from the fashion police.
I like this romper because of how light and tender the fabric is. I bought a size bigger because I wanted an enhanced slacky feel but the waist ended up being a little too big so I decided to use a fringed belt to hold it in and add some character.
I paired this look with a choker I made myself (I will have a DIY post up very soon) and I figured I’d give it an extra sumthn’ sumthm’ with a hat and my lace-up sandals. And if you’re not a fan of heels or you’re just not in the mood to pack on a couple more inches, you can easily slip on a pair of sneakers or ballerina flats and you’re A-Ok!
Thanks for reading guys.
