MODEL OFF DUTY

Hey guys,

What a weekend it’s been right? For my Nigerian readers, we just got off a 4-day weekend and those were the best four days that I’ve had in a long time. As was expected, a handful of people traveled to another city and except you’ve been living under a rock for the last three fashion seasons, you’ll be aware that travel style has taken a turn for the comfier. Gone are the days when stilettos and form fitted jeans trousers were the way to go. Arriving at the airport nowadays involves comfy sweats, slightly oversized sweaters and a pair of sneakers or loafers.

The model off-duty look is not an entirely new concept, but have you wondered why people are gravitating towards the sartorial “I can rock a bin bag and tie my hair up in a messy bun” kinda ensemble…even over the weekends? – It’s the striking the balance between comfort and laid back style.  Models have very hectic schedules; traveling long haul flights with the probability of the paparazzi catching them off guard  and the need to keep up appearances makes them opt for classics that always work.

So the next time you’re taking advantage of an extended holiday, bear this in mind. I was graciously gifted this set from D1709 and I’m in love with the color.  I absolutely fancy the fabric, it’s long sleeves and deep pockets.

P.S: I love it when the work week starts on Tuesdays because the week runs by even faster. Who’s with me?

Thanks for reading.
