ROAD TRIPPIN’

ROAD TRIPPIN’

As you all know (apart from those who are visiting my blog for the first time – you’re welcome by the way) I’m off work on Wednesdays and if there’s one thing I’ve always wanted to do, its drive far far away and have my country playlist on full blast…partly because I have an unquenchable love for songs brewed down south but also because in my head, country songs are best enjoyed in a cabriolet, in full open-air mode, aviator shades on,  wind in my hair, counting kilometers with every twang I feel down my feet…aarrghh!! Take me back…okay well…maybe to the first forty-five minutes before the car broke down *sad times*.

road-trippin-4Seeing how I don’t know the first thing about cars, I was in the company of a good friend who got his hands working while I kept fiddling with my iPad. It turned out that we needed a mechanic to sort out the issue so while we waited, I thought “what better way to pass time than have a photo shoot”.

road-trippin-2road-trippin-1Guys, just learn this, as a blogger, you get the weirdest ideas while doing the oddest of things and the one time I tried to explain the concept I had for a photoshoot to friend of mine, she thought I needed to retreat from la-la land.

road-trippin-3One thing I took away from this experience was patience and making the most of any given moment. I could have allowed the situation with the car cut my ideal experience short, or the fact that it started drizzling when we were figuring the engine out, or twenty other potentially annoying things that sprung out of nowhere but…It became a memorable experience.road-trippin-5road-trippin-6

Current songs on my playlist:

Chris Young – The dashboard

Glen Hansard – Winning streak

Jon Bryant – David Livingstone

Tim McGraw – The cowboy in me

Don Williams – I believe in you

Jamie O’Neal – Leavin’ on your mind

Your Car is so so simple for a blogger and also the choice of location it broke down ..it’s almost like the scene was meant for you to explore all in all it’s quite pretty. Also, is that a wrapper or a blanket at the trunk of the car ?

Thanks Hadiza. I can’t say I disagree with out about the location and it’s a throw blanket. I like to take one with me during long commutes.

Thank you so much. I’m of the personal opinion that the beauty of Abuja needs to be captured a little bit more than it currently is. I hope my pictures continue to show it for all it is and more.
