So this is the post where I give you a tour of my bedroom. I started redecorating my apartment in January this year. Prior to then, my walls were painted white. Well actually, I painted them white when I was starting my YouTube channel because you’re “advised” that it works better for editing, aesthetics and bla bla but I got very bored very quickly. Funny thing is that a lot of the boards that inspired my current color palette were rooms with white walls, but this time around I decided to opt for a color that is more me. I’m very into warm, neutral and earthy tones. I looked through the Dulux color chart and opted for a shade in their neutral range called ButterMilk.
The Scandinavian/Pinterest style basically set the tone of my décor. I got a local carpenter to make my night stands and then I spray painted the knobs with a gold spray that I got from the market. I also had him make a floating shelf on which I laid out some frames which I made. I shared the process of these on my Instagram @kachi_of_staples. I downloaded the images I wanted to print, went to the market, picked out the frames I wanted (black and white), selected the glass surface for them and printed.
I got my décor and accessories from a variety of shops on Instagram and I uploaded a homeware haul video on my YouTube channel. You can watch it here.
I love how my bedroom turned out. I recently became more intentional about slow living, togetherness, extreme warmth and hygge. I intend to begin series of videos about this on my channel and I hope you’ll follow them.
