It feels like a decade since I posted here, right? Well a lot has happened AND we’re here now. One of the things I got into during my temporary break was finding new places in abuja and exploring restaurants and I have to say – some people are putting in some darn good effort all in a bid to improve the experience of their clients and i think its commendable. The other day, i visited The Tea Room (in its new and improved state) and all i have to say is – go see for yourself.
Today i visited The Pier and I was blown away. First off, the igloo tents instantly reminded me of The Skylight in London. This kind of innovation is how to keep your seats full every night, because lets be real, aren’t we all a bit tired of sitting inside wall to wall enclosures? what would you give to enjoy the skyline over a platter of the most savory platter? I imagine going back on a rainy day, enjoying a hot bowl of ramen while i watch drops of rain splash against the transparent tent.
And just incase this isn’t so much your vibe, or you’re out with bae and all you want are warm snuggles while you wine and dine, there’s another more enclosed tent with very lush seating, complete with pillows and wooden stools that I imagine are perfect for outdoor snuggles.
Oh there’s more – I mean, these guys did their homework. There’s a green area right at the back that opens up to a refreshing view of the water. This part also has loads of wooden benches dotted around that will be perfect for a summer barbecue or something like that.
Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy a meal because the kitchen was not yet functional, however, tomorrow is the official launch of The Pier and I look forward to enjoying a fuller experience when next I go back.
Until then, thank you for reading.
